Perhaps so, but then again, if there were cars instead of the motorbikes, then you'd have too many cars clogging up the road, and traffic would be worse.
Of course, it doesn't help that on a two-lane road, there's three or four lanes of traffic instead. Motorbikes and bicycles worm in and around the cars, and squeeze into every available space. No orderly lines out here.

And then the people ... since the cars do not stop at all, people will just walk out on the street, and dart through a gap in the oncoming traffic. It's up to the motorist to swerve and brake to a halt.
I still find it amazing that I have not seen anybody, any cars, any bikes, any thing hit each other ...
